I may be on my phone.

I may be wearing headphones.

I may look busy.

I may even be wearing a scowl.

But it's okay to say hello.

I wear hello.

hello.

We’ve become extraordinarily good at not needing each other.

We can navigate a city, order dinner, pay for almost anything — without speaking to another person.

Technology keeps making it easier not to need one another.

That doesn’t mean we stop choosing one another.

hello.

And then there are the little uncertainties:

Will they want to talk to me?

Am I bothering them?

Will this be awkward?

Will they think I'm strange?

So often, we say nothing. Not because we don’t want to connect.

Simply because we don't know if we’re welcome.

Wear the permission.

If you can believe in this.

If you can choose to remain open to the world.

If you are willing to give someone permission to say hello.

Or if you know someone who does...

It's okay to say hello.

Wear the permission.

Wear your hello.

hello.

Do you believe in this enough to wear it?

And if we're completely wrong about all of this?

The worst that can happen is you end up with a really good t-shirt.

And the best?

Someone says ......

hello.
